"Idol Worship - The Conclusion"
Well, I didn't have the chance to ask for her phone number, poor me...
I also managed to screw up one of the most important friendships of my life. I hope she can forgive me.
Anyway, the show was awesome. Ended up sitting in a fantastic place, thanks to my initiative. We were about to be seated in the main gallery in front of the stage, about six rows back, when I asked the staff assigning seats, "What about those seats over there? Can we sit there?", pointing at three short rows to the left of the stage, in front of the sound boards. He said no, but then changed his mind. We ended up in the third row over there, with some other devoted Mavis fans (Mavis Fan fans?). But our seats were even better, being tight next to a column, so that we could stand up practically the whole concert. Great place to take photos (I'll upload one soon).
Anyway, for me, there were so many high points. The unrehearsed acapella rendition of "我要我們在一起" ("I Want Us to be Together"), the song that made me a fan, was fun, as Mavis really has the charisma to pull something off like that. Her surprise cover of Lisa Loeb's "Stay" was my ex-girlfriend's dream come true! And the Mother's Day duet with her mother was sugar sweet. I made a fool of myself by shouting a few times in Cantonese, but that was fun too. And I was delighted when she played the only song of hers that I can sing along to, "Why Do You Have to Be So Bad?"
But, alas, I didn't have the chance to speak with her (sigh). Next time, lah! And she'll remember me. I'm sure of it. LOL
